IG Downloader is designed with privacy in mind. We do not require registration or login. Here's what we may process:

  • Instagram URLs you submit — processed transiently to fetch publicly available media. URLs are not stored permanently.
  • Usage data — anonymous analytics via Google Analytics (pages visited, approximate location via IP). No personally identifiable information is collected.
  • Server logs — standard web server logs (IP address, timestamp, request path) retained for operational purposes and automatically rotated.

2. How We Use Information

  • To provide the download service — fetching and delivering Instagram media you request.
  • To enforce rate limits and prevent abuse.
  • To analyze aggregate usage patterns and improve the Service.

3. Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties. The only third-party services involved are:

  • Google Analytics — for anonymous site analytics. Google's privacy policy applies to data they process.
  • HikerAPI — a third-party API used to fetch Instagram media. URLs you submit are transmitted to this service for processing.

4. Cookies

We do not use our own cookies. Google Analytics may set cookies for analytics purposes. You can disable cookies in your browser settings.

5. Data Retention

Downloaded media is streamed directly to your browser and is not stored on our servers. Server logs are retained for a maximum of 30 days. Rate-limit counters reset daily.

6. Children's Privacy

The Service is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children. If you believe a child has provided information through the Service, contact us for removal.

7. Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction (e.g., GDPR in the EU), you may have rights to access, correct, or request deletion of your personal data. Since we collect minimal data without identity linkage, identifying specific user data may not be possible. Contact us with any privacy inquiries.
